The geothermal system is a go! After many painful months of dealing with prospective contractors, the work is going ahead. The poor old house has no idea what's happening around it but in the years to come, it will be warm through winter and cool in summer after this brief disruption. We're quite proud of the fact that this big, 134 year old home will not consume any form of fossil fuel for heat while adding the mod-con of central air AND reducing heating costs by 55%. With work on the three main floor wood fireplaces completed, we hope to be quite cozy this coming winter.
